5-B-IV Front Axle.

Herewith RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}'s report on the failure of 5-B-IV front axle with the latest type of axle control.

This rather confirms our request that the cross steering tube should be slightly increased in strength.

We are now conducting tests to see whether the new axle control arrangement to N.Sch.4179 can be held responsible for the very bad brake jaggers which have occurred on this car.

In considering this report we would point out that it is highly improbable that a present standard customer's car could possibly be subjected to a jagger such as those we have managed to produce.
