Vickers} 9.4.37. FILTER FOR RADIATOR OUTLET LeC.5586. We send you herewith three types of gauze and frames which have been produced in the Works. As far as we can ascertain from the LeC. the idea being to prevent loose solder entering the water pump. We strongly recommend that before this is put on to production, careful consideration should be given to the effect of gauze silting up, having in mind your experiences on early Kestrel engine failures due to fitting a gauze similar to this in the system. The Works say they would prefer the plain gauze cap from cheapness and production point of view. Will you please let us have your comments one way or the other.
