Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies} Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}9/ML.2.4.40. We must institute some organisation whereby cars cannot be sent out of the Experimental Dept., without tools on board. 3.B.50 was recently handed over to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AA{D. Abbot-Anderson} with no tools. The fact that somebody else was working on the car does not absolve you from responsibility as being in charge of the Garage. We are prepared to insist on any modification of the existing organisation to prevent recurrences of this. We have heard that Lp.{Mr Lappin} sometimes takes cars from the front door when you do not know that he is going to do this. This can easily be dealt with by locking any car which is left on the concrete forme and then leaving the ignition key on the table in my Office. Incidentally, Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AA{D. Abbot-Anderson} has got a scheme out for the periodical servicing of customers' cars and I should like to discuss with you what we can do on Experimental cars to prove out his scheme. It is appreciated that there are a number of cars being dismantled and that therefore regular servicing will be difficult in this case. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
