To R.{Sir Henry Royce} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c.c. to CJ. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} c.c. to RG.{Mr Rowledge} DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c.c. to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c.c. to FN. KP. Handwritten: X9450 S E C R E T. EAC. - STEERING. Handwritten: X9450 / X9680 With reference to the steering on PN{Mr Northey}'s car. This car is fitted with the side steering tube exactly similar to the present standard 40/50. It has non-set-up springs. The steering was arranged in this way because on the bump test we had numerous steering failures with the car fitted with radius rods and stiff set-up springs. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
