MODIFICATION TO REAR AXLE THRUST HOUSING.

This improvement was pointed out by R-R Springfield.

We attach copy of letter ref. CYL/G16.3.22.

We have fitted up an axle with this modification and our Axle quietening Dept. report that it is an assistance to them in getting the correct bedding.

The modification consists of only a slight alteration to the machining of the thrust housing. It will be necessary to mark the thrust housing in relation to the axle casing to ensure that if these parts are dismantled, they will be erected in the same relative position.

We find that the lubrication of the ball thrust is ample when we do away with the feed pipe.
