| R.R. 300 (6 B) (XX. 368. 9.9.13) E.P. 4920. 15114 ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. INSTRUCTIONS. To Mr Royce 12 Nov. 19 Order No. Customer's No. X879 Re FRONT ANCHORAGE OF REAR SPRINGS. Herewith I enclose a print of F 4200 showing the scheme revised to your instructions. It is certainly lighter than the old one & makes a poor job. The reason why we cannot make the link any shorter is that springs do not come in to drawing & vary considerably, although the centre line of the eye should be have motion as seems safe. [Drawing of a spring eye with a note pointing to it: Rolled in like this] The stress on the bolts due to this would be about 9000 lbs per sq. in. I am proceeding with this, on account of the urgency of the matter, pending further instructions. Signed Way This Sheet must be filed on completion of the work. | ||
