x740 Ref./W/Z/1.19215. Na.{Mr Nadin} 19.2.15. Re Na{Mr Nadin}/24/G15215. Although I do not consider the present system or working the extra oil is perfect I think it is preferable to working it automatically by the vacuum in the induction pipe. The chief complaint I know against the present scheme is that the same quantity of extra oil is supplied whether the engine is running full throttle at 10 m.p.h. and developing about 18 HP or running at 70 m.p.h. and developing 60 HP. From what I understand this new scheme would not improve this at all because the maximum amount of oil is supplied when the vacuum in the pipe is the lowest, so this means that if the throttle is kept wide open there would be less oil as the engine speed and HP increased, this seems wrong. I should have thought the regulating valve in this scheme ought to be connected to the other side of the throttle and worked in conjunction with the air valve, it could then be arranged that the extra oil came in after a certain HP was reached, the position of the air valve is a true indication of the HP developed by the engine.
