X.4244 RE "KITS".
-----------------

We had gone on with the single plate clutch and the adaptation of the Goshawk gear box to suit being mounted on the engine, in accordance with your first instructions, but we rather expected that we should receive some more drawings, and so we did not go full speed on it. We have now received LeC.1314, and we understand that a complete detail design of the clutch is being sent us. We thought that we would send you a print of what we had done to the clutch and gear box in case there is anything that might be of use. The only point that we notice ourselves is that we have got a solid gear box from the big flange to the end without a loaded joint half-way along. This may, or may not be considered a virtue.

We are going on with the adaptation of the gear box to suit LeC.1314, in case this is your intention.
