TORQUE MEASURING APPARATUS.

REAR SPRING SECTION 7030.
REAR AXLE SECTION 6120.

Please receive herewith 2 Blue Prints of the following new drawings:-

SCD. 1177. - Adaption of Rear Axle for use with Hydraulic Measuring Unit.
EXS. 1438. - U-Bolt. 4 off.
EXS. 1439. - Outer Tube. 2 off.
EXS. 1440. - Spring Bracket. 2 off.
EXS. 1441. - Spring Bracket. 2 off.

The following standard Parts will also be required:-

K.{Mr Kilner} 4319. - Nut. 8 off.
K.{Mr Kilner} 4416. - Washer. 8 off.
K.{Mr Kilner} 9011. - Spring Washer. 8 off.
Hoffman Ball Bearing No. ULS.16. 2 off.

The remaining pieces are as used on the Standard Bentley 11 engine.

This modification has been done to enable the Rear Axle Torque to be measured, and is in accordance with memo Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GRY.{Shadwell Grylls}1/MH.{M. Huckerby}7.2.39, and should be used in connection with apparatus shown on SCD.1175 issued under memo By/Ald.{F. Allwood - Experimental Design}1/A.W.17.2.39.

Kindly instruct one set.
