X4256 To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from BJ. Copies to G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Mor. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BJ5/H11.12.22. RECEIVED DEC 11 1922 HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} AXLE GEAR RATIO FOR GOSHAWK CHASSIS EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}/Thn4/HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}12.22. With regard to demonstrating cars for oversea countries, it would be advisable for you to obtain instructions in regard to each separately, as conditions vary in each country. For instance, the cars required for the long straight French roads may require different axles from those used in Switzerland, and for a car to be used in India, it might be desirable to send an engine which would have revolutions which were higher than might be necessary, as the high engine speed might be too overheating. In each case we have to consider what is likely to be the best for the country in question. If there are any other chassis you are preparing for demonstrating in oversea countries, please let Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} know, so that he may give the matter consideration. Thank you for the special endeavours you have made to deliver 41-G-2. B.J. | ||
