UNIT SUPPLIED. | CONDITION OF BEARINGS. Hand brake shaft. | Ample lubrication - bearings good. Clutch and foot brake shaft. | Well lubricated. Front brake shaft. | Well lubricated - bearings good. Clutch trunnion. | Joint well lubricated - no signs of wear. Water pump spindle. | Oiled O.K. Bearing surfaces O.K. Gland packing surfaces worn considerably. Rotor worn (end thrust). Pendulum lever. | Oiled generously. Ball pads in excellent condition. Clutch operating shaft. | Well lubricated - bearings O.K. Front axle units. Pivots O.S. | Plenty of oil - bearings in good condition. N.S. | Oil moderate - bearings O.K. Brake operating shaft - O.S. | The bearing was soaked in oil. and oil poured out on removing shaft. Both ends O.K. N.S. | Oil supply scanty and far bearing only just lubricated. We should say that in joints such as this it is advisable to fill the bearing which is fairly oil-retaining when assembling the pieces. Otherwise the drip plugs will not meter enough oil to reach the end bearing. Brake toggle shafts - N.S. O.S. | Plentiful supply of oil - bearings well lubricated. Cross steering tube - N.S. | Ball end and contacts well lubricated. Spring loaded contact badly scored by grit. O.S. | Ball end and contacts well lubricated. Spring loaded contact scored by grit. | ||
