Y2974 HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Es13/El2.9.34-1- Notes of Meeting held at Derby - 11th September 1934. PRESENT: Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Lid.{A. J. Lidsey} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} HY.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} CHASSIS. BENTLEY. 15,000 Miles Test Car - 4-R-IV. The list of items on this car as per Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}2/KW.26.7.34 was gone through. All have been cleared for standardisation with the exception of Nos.10,15, 16 and, under the heading of 'Unit' Page 3, Nos.1,4 and 7, and as regards No.3 this is cleared but it is not proposed to standardise it but only reserve it in case of need for special cars. Smaller dynamos should also be added to the list of items cleared. Some of these will be on 'D' Series but some cannot be on till 'E' Series. Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} will send a list for the information of Sales. Re the next 15,000 miles car, B-5, this car is in the course of preparation but it is not yet possible to say when it will be able to start. The items for test are chiefly those given in Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}18/KW.16.7.34. With regard to the modification previously discussed of putting the engine 3" further forward, further investigation has shown that this was not going to be as simple as was formerly thought and there is a good deal of design work to be done in connection with it and it will probably mean using the Wraith gearbox. With regard to the additional crossmember to W.Sch.4124 with the object of reducing the lamp and wing movement, this is | ||
