Notes of Meeting - cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} still being persevered with. It does not look as if it would be of great a benefit as was thought. This question of reducing lamp and wing movement is of considerable importance and, as we do not want to wait until the introduction of the chassis with engine further forward, E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} undertook to investigate the question of centrally mounting lamp, wings and radiator and if possible getting this on Chassis B-5 referred to above. Supercharging the Bentley. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} said that they hoped to have the Graham Paige supercharger on test on a Bentley car in about 10 days. Brake Judder. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} raised the question of brake judder referred to in a letter from Professor Lodds. It was not agreed that this was a general complaint. Bm. is to be asked to try to get hold of the car and demonstrate the complaint to the Works. Phantom II. 28-EX. 15,000 Miles Test Car. This matter was discussed as per Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}14/B7.9.34. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} said that these reports must not be read too literally and that there was always a good deal going on besides what appeared actually in the reports, i.e. in direct communication with Hancock. Hancock had been over to Derby for a general discussion and, as indicated in E.1/HP.5.9.34, the rubber engine mounting on 28-EX is being converted back to the present rigid ex pivot mounting in the front with the object of trying to eliminate the troubles and at the same time retain as much benefit as possible from rubber engine mounting. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} expressed the view that we ought to stop further development work on P.II's in view of the spectreCodename for Phantom III but Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} explained that we must deal with the points to which we are definitely committed on production. 20/25 and 21-G-IV. The list of points on this 15,000 miles test car was gone through as per Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Bm.17/KW.27.7.34. All the | ||
