Report on tests of Steering Pivots
C.402 - X.168

Three of these old weaker type pivots were broken and the length of life is given below. All three were second hand and had been removed from cars. None showed signs of cracks however when the tests were commenced. The stress was reversed 750 times per minute.

No.1 lasted 25 minutes.
No.2 lasted 30 minutes.
No.3 lasted 10 minutes.
