Report on tests of Steering Pivots
F.2353 - X.160

This is the medium type pivot. It is similar to C.402 except that it is slightly thickened up in the U. section. I believe it is fitted to cars from No.2075 to 2300.

Two new pivots were tested and were run at a speed of 750 reversals per minute on the test rig.

No. 1 broke in 2 hours 30 minutes.
No.2 " "1 " 5 "

These were the only new ones I could get, but I ran two second hand ones to destruction. They were not cracked at the start.

No.1 broke in 8 minutes.
No.2 " " 15 "
