X5430 With regard to the suggestion that plain bushes should be used on the top of the India pivots. We think this should be avoided if possible because of the difficulty of lubrication. We are always more or less in trouble with lubrication of the plain bushes on pivot pins. We have recently received several complaints of the steerings tightening up on a long run. We have had this complaint before and it has been proved due to the breaking down of the lubrication on the pivot pin bushes. We suggest that we revert to the multiple friction disc similar to those fitted to all previous 20 HP. cars. We have never had any trouble with them and in this case, being at the bottom of the pivot, even if the lubrication is neglected, they should still have sufficient oil.
