REDUCTION IN WEIGHT ON 'PHANTOM'.
48840
48770

Practically the whole of the production of Phantom cars is long type chassis. We should say that the percentage of short chassis is less than 5 %.

The long chassis is 45 lbs. heavier than the short chassis. We should say that the further 6" on the body would make the total increase in weight approx. 100 lbs.

We think in a large number of cases the long chassis is entirely unnecessary; it makes the car difficult to manoeuvre and does not improve the disposition of the weights on the axles.

It will take a lot of paring to save 100 lbs: on the chassis, but by using the short chassis for open cars, or other types whenever possible, we save this amount without any disadvantage.
