BENTLEY S2

STRAIGHT 8. 3¼" bore x 4½" stroke. ALUM.CRANKCASE
Conventional Head

It is intended to produce a straight 8 engine 3¼" dia. bore with an aluminium Crankcase. The cylinder liners are to be as shewn marked on the cylinder No.8 on the attached print of P.D.308. The figures given on No.7 cylinder shew how the liners can be opened out to 3.375" later, if required. The top joint face and the valve mechanism must be made to suit the conventional head.

For the first engine it is intended to use the lower half of the universal pattern produced for C.I.straight 8 engines. The top part of the pattern i.e., the cylinder block, will be made to suit the dry liner engine.

Prints of the following drawings are sent for reference:
PD.308 - Dry Liner Straight 8 HP. Head
PD.313 - Modified Front End.
PD.316 - Modified Rear End.
PD.321 - Threaded Adaptor - Ignition Tower.

Please put the detailing in hand, as an engine is required at an early date.
