Hr/M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} 14th May 1920. MINUTES OF DAILY CONFERENCE. 13TH MAY 1920. ____________________________ Present:- Copies to:- Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} R.{Sir Henry Royce} Hr. CJ. Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} C. Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} Bn.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Hr. Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} _________________________________________________________________ (1) WATER JACKET COVERS. A note from Mr.Royce was read, saying it was absolutely ridiculous that we could not get Water Jacket Cover castings. He said surely we could make them ourselves. He stated he did not approve of gunmetal because of the extra weight and the fact that it has a different temperature coefficient and therefore more likely to leak in time than the cast iron. Our Foundry is making some and is making them without much difficulty - as many as the capacity of the foundry will hold. Generally speaking we do not think there is likely to be any more trouble. We are also likely to get a supply from Wallworks. (2) RADIATORS. Would Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} get out an approximate cost of machinery and tools for the making of radiators. (3) WOOD WHEEL HUBS FOR TEST CHASSIS FOR AMERICA. Mr. Swift hopes to be able to supply EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} early next week with a few sets of rear Wood Wheel Hubs, but he is waiting on Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} for flanges from outside. Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} is going to give Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} necessary information during the course of today, with regard to these flanges. | ||
