FLYING A CLUTCH - LOP. G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 82537.

(1) The end of the clutch operating shaft G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 81458 fouls the cruciform members as shown.

(2) The LOP. does not call for the locking rings on the Clutch Operating Shaft shown on D.S. 4539. Lock Ring H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 51797 would be suitable.

(3) End movement of the Clutch Operating Shaft G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 81458 is controlled one way by the Collar G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 81486 but there is too much movement towards the L.H. side allowing the Trunnion Piece G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 81374 to rub on the clutch operating sleeve G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 82593.

(4) Unless the timing markings are carried over the vertical face of the Flywheel Cover they cannot be seen through the window in the Clutch Casing.

(5) Slight pressure on the Flywheel Cover bolts during assembly is sufficient to distort the Stop Plates G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 82594 which should either be made in stiffer gauge material or fastened down either side the heads of the outer bolts.

(6) The Clutch Finger Stops and the lugs on the Pressure Ring G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 82509 foul two of the vertical bolt bosses inside the Clutch Casing.
