FLYWHEEL & CLUTCH CONTINUED
(7) The internal roller track and the external diameter of the Clutch Operating Sleeve Guide G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 82748 should be finished in position in order to ensure concentricity with the Clutch cover.
(8) Owing to the possibility of an air lock between the inner and outer driven members, it is suggested that the Dash D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} 80705 in the outer member should be grooved to provide an air release as on 20/25 HP. and Bentley (d.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} 30923).
(9) Owing to lack of purchase & the Joint Face difficulty has been experienced in getting off the Flywheel Cover during the various fitting operations and it would be an advantage to have say three tapped holes on the same radius as the starter ring bolts so that screws could be inserted to force the cover off the Flywheel spigot.
(10) It is recommended that the bolts for the Rear Clutch Casing Cover should be fitted with Retaining Rings as they are liable to drop inside the Clutch Casing when the cover is placed in position.
(11) The drawing of the flywheel cover G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 82606 gives no indication as to where holes should be drilled for balancing purposes.
(12) The Clutch is very inaccessible in the car as it means lowering the rear end of the engine in order to get the top half clutch casing past the dipping switch on the dashboard.
The two halves of the Clutch Casing have to be removed separately when the engine is in the car so that it also means withdrawing the two short studs S. 82871 and F.{Mr Friese} 79003 either side of the lower half casing. Bolts or setscrews would therefore be preferable but in either case it would be necessary to modify the castings on account of the horizontal bosses immediately above and below the studs referred to.
(13) The G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 82619 adaptor for the clutch operating shaft lubricator is screwed 26 T.P.I. but the corresponding hole in the lower half clutch casing G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 82606 is shown as 20 T.P.I.
ENGINE ASSEMBLY - R.A.1. 4296 - 102. G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 88171
In order to assemble the coupling with the engine in position, it is necessary to thread the fabric disc continued.
