gallons, had our bell capacity been larger.

1 1/4 gallons at the 20 gallon mark amounts to a loss of head of 13/16". That is to say, the petrol had risen up in the bell from the datum line this amount. The measurement to the top of the bell is 1 1/8", so that under the conditions of this particular test it would appear to us that the unit was fully corrected and the over-night loss a normal one. It does not, however, prove that it would be thus fully corrected under all running conditions, and we are of the opinion that the safety factor should be increased both as regards the amount of air pumping, and probably in addition the capacity of the volume contained in the bell.

We thank you for your kind co-operation in carrying out the further tests suggested, and the writer hopes shortly to give you some news of the two other units which we are preparing here.

Yours faithfully,

H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} HOBSON, LTD.,

T.P. Searight

Joint Managing Director.
