CARBURETTER CONTROLS.
BY11-P7.9.23.
Referring to EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}6/H5923, before deciding to go to such an extreme as correcting 334 cars I would like to discuss the matter with Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}, and receive his assurance that he considers the cars would be sufficiently unsatisfactory in service to justify us incurring such an expense. On the face of it it does not appear to me that this is necessary, unless it is from the point of view that the customer may not use his mixture control reasonably, in which case if he pushed it right over to rich, or right over to weak, he would be in difficulties.
