1297. Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /Wym. {G. Harold Whyman - Experimental Manager} 6/NH. 20th. January 1938. H.Dare Lea, Esq., Messrs. Lea & Servais Ltd., 8, Old Pye Street, Westminster, London, S.W.1. Dear Sir, I am sorry to have been so long in replying to your letter of the 4th. inst., but we have only just succeeded in getting your silencer fitted to one of our Phantom III cars. The short tests we have been able to do at the moment show up the silencer in a favourable light from a noise point of view, but we want to take some B.H.P. loss curves and back pressures, and of course run the silencer some thousands of miles for endurance purposes. As soon as I have the B.H.P. figures I will write you again. Yours faithfully, for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
