CRANKSHAFT DAMPERS. 4221

We notice in 'The Motor' 22.2.27 that Dr.F.W. Lanchester has obtained a patent for a scheme of combined damper and crankshaft pinion which is made for the same purpose and as far as we can see is identical in principle to the scheme we have on G.1. engine except that he uses fluid friction.

As we have recently appreciated definite advantages in this scheme and may wish to use it, we thought it worth while pointing this out.

We do not appear to have ever taken out a patent for the G.1. arrangement.
