15-EX CAR IN FRANCE. X4613 X8940B

Further to our Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rml/LG5.3.28. You will see that GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} reported cracks as indicated in the attached sketch. We appreciate that these are due to our holding the body down on the rubber pads instead of with springs, but the springs allowed too much movement. Possibly we would be able to revert to them if we could use semi-isolation.
However we should like to know if you see any prospect of strengthening up the body in the region of the failure. This might also be of assistance in enabling the body to stand up to semi-isolation.

We are circulating some information on our experience with total isolation shortly.

Observed cracks. Can we triangulate across A-B to improve matters.
