We should like you to demonstrate to PN.{Mr Northey} that the large stay from the steering box to the dash is only necessary to keep the body from collapsing, i.e., when it is removed the column does not move very much as long as semi-isolation is now employed; the stay is only used to make certain that the column does not smash the scuttle armature. For this purpose it would be desirable if you removed the stay for one days run, explaining to PN.{Mr Northey} your reason for so doing.
