The fan belts at present fitted to chassis, which have links composed of leather and grey fibre, are very unsatisfactory, the hole in the fibre portion of the links elongating and in numerous cases being broken through.

Furthermore, when the belt is adjusted to the correct tension there is a very objectionable period caused by it, which can be felt right through the chassis.
