Dear Sir,

As arranged during our conversation on Monday, we forward herewith blue prints of our Bentley valve gear, viz:-

EB.141 - Arrangement of standard gear.

EX.14182 - Arrangement of experimental silent tappet, weight complete 153 gms.

E.54947 - Standard rocker - weight complete 107 gms.

Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1450 - Experimental inlet valve, weight 65 gms.

Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1451 - " exhaust valve, weight 72 gms.

Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1453 - Experimental push rod, weight 40 gms.

E.55337 - Standard tappet.

EX.14175)
EX.12876) - Details of silent tappet.
Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1363 )

The weight of the standard tappet complete with roller is 80 gms. This we could reduce considerably by abandoning the rolling contact, but the valve spring would not be relieved thereby.
