MR. MINCHIN'S CAR.

Mr. & Mrs. Minchin stayed a day with us at Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence, during the time Dodd was away with our car.

Mr. Minchin is extremely pleased with his car, but suggests the frame should be lower. He told me of the extra charges for small modifications by RR. I cannot think that this practice is wise: (if we must charge at all it should be at nett cost). Buyers never seem to forget these items.

The only thing I did not like was the instrument board. (The A.T. clock would not go) He asked for Watford-Wulliner's mistake. But we must group our instruments to:
(1) Improve the appearance.
(2) For the lighting.
(3) So that good instruments are supplied (and included with the chassis even if we had to increase price).

This car was fitted with Lucas magnetic dipping reflectors to the headlamps, and are light and easy to work Mr. Minchin is very pleased with them: (Barker's dippings are an abomination for clumsiness, weight, and too heavy to work).

Mr. Minchin who has much experience in cars says that the 20 HP. is excellent, but should not exceed 30 cwt = 3360 lbs., all on except petrol, passengers, and luggage, otherwise it feels the grades too much.
