X8080 BY/CS3/DB.{Donald Bastow - Suspensions}29.3.27. c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Re 40/50HP Chassis. - Carburetter - Sec:5080. Re 20HP Chassis. We send you herewith one blueprint off each of the following:- 40/50HP. E.76076 - H.S.Valve, which replaces E.75288. E.76077 - L.S.Valve, which replaces E.75287. 20HP. E.54345 - H.S.Valve, which replaces E.51941. E.54346 - L.S.Valve, which replaces E.52568. Will you please instruct up one set of these parts to be tested in std: 40/50HP & 20HP Carburetters. It will be noted that we have blended the bottom of taper of valve and guide portions into the small diameter of valves with a taper, with a view to eliminating the possibility of foreign matter being caught at these points, as is the case at present, with square corners and occasionally burrs on same. We have also incorporated the 4 grooves in the guide portion instead of 3, as in the case of valves issued for 40/50HP in our memo BY/CS6/DB.{Donald Bastow - Suspensions}10.9.26, but is the first issue of 20HP Valves with this feature. Will Mr Hives please communicate the results of above experiments to Mr Bailey, as soon as possible. BY/CS. [STAMP: RECEIVED MAR 29 1927 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}] | ||
