We are interested in your report Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/IMW{Ivan M. Waller - Head of Chateauroux}/4/JAB. 13.7.37. from which it would appear that binding of the withdrawal mechanism must occur somewhere between the pedal and the thrust bearing, because, if it were in the fingers or pressure plate, raising the pedal would not help matters.

Can you find out where the binding occurs ? It is difficult to think that it is in the needle bearings of the operating lever shaft. We found that under extreme conditions of heating the thermoid looses its μ, but it recovers after a pause of only a few minutes.
