X6055 BY. {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} FROM DA. {Bernard Day - Chassis Design} DA {Bernard Day - Chassis Design} 2/10.9.31. C. to SG. {Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} HS. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 25HP. BATTERY SUSPENSION - 'U' SERIES. We send herewith N.sch.3333. shewing a modification to the cantilever battery suspension shewn on N.sch 3273. It will be seen that the cantilever is supported half way along its length by a pressing running axially with the chassis, so assisting in preventing the twisting of the frame side member shaking the battery. We have shewn a pressing for the longitudinal member. We are not sure whether there is a cheaper way of making this, for instance, it would be possible to make it of parallel channel. If you have any preference would you please inform us. DA. {Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
