Dear Sirs,

In regard to our 3 1/2 litre Trials car, the following point may be of interest to you.

The writer gave a run on the car on Saturday last to Mr. Nigel FitzRoy. The car behaved very well with the exception that towards the end of the run, and unfortunately in the dark, the car gave up altogether. Upon examination this was found due to no petrol going through to the carburettors, the trouble being eventually traced to the petrol lifts. What exactly transpired is as follows:-

There are two yellow electric leads which go in, one each to the end of the petrol lifts. On the end of these leads there is a spring which should hold the contact down on the seating. Presumably due to the vibration on the road, these had worked out, with the result there was no contact, and therefore, the petrol lifts ceased working - naturally consequence, non-supply of petrol.

This is only a very small matter but a very annoying one to trace in the dark, and it occurs to the writer that it might easily happen again, inasmuch as the springs do not seem strong enough to keep the contact definitely in position.

I thought I would bring this to your notice in case as a small matter of interest it might be worth consideration.

Yours faithfully,
CENTRAL GARAGE LTD.
