SG. {Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} ) FROM DA {Bernard Day - Chassis Design} /EV. {Ivan Evernden - coachwork} HS. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} ) C. to WOR. {Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} CX. {Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} re. CAR FOR WW. DA {Bernard Day - Chassis Design} /EV {Ivan Evernden - coachwork} 1/M7.11.32. After reading R1/M41132., and discussing the matter at "ElmsteadHenry Royce's home in West Wittering",it would appear that 20-G-4. is the car that R. {Sir Henry Royce} would like. This is a trials car at the moment, but a replica of it will return from demonstration work in Paris on Nov. 19., and we suggest that as soon as that car returns you might be able to use it as the London trials, and let R. {Sir Henry Royce} have 20-G-4. We understand from HS. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} that the urgency for obtaining 16-G-4. is not now quite so great, and we suggest that it remains here for fear the car is required in emergency until 20-G-4. returns. If anything can be done to get 20-G-4. here sooner we think it would help matters, as when Sir Henry is able to get out, advantages hope to be taken of any fine days before the real winter weather sets in. We suggest that Derby should send to HN. {F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders} a complete set of parts for the fitting up on this car of a 'Dewandre' heater on the back of the dashboard. There is another alternative - Park Wards have an exact replica of the body of 20-G-4. almost completed, and could give delivery of the complete car in not more than a fortnight from date of receipt of chassis. If a chassis can be found this car could be either the one for R. {Sir Henry Royce} or the one to replace 20-G-4. if preferred. 16-G-4. which is here is not considered a suitable car for winter, and it is obvious that the only other type of body R. {Sir Henry Royce} will consider is that on 20-G-4.
