HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} ) ~~SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}~~ ) FROM R.{Sir Henry Royce} ~~C.~~ ) ~~C. to WOR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer}~~ ORIGINAL 25HP. FOR FRANCE. R3/M15.8.31. X5410. From this car, and my J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} 1., one learnt the following: (1) A car with a high C. G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} - i.e. weight in the roof and windows, glass screen, etc - cannot have such flexible springs as a car with lower C. G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp}, such as my J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} 1. The effect of the high C. G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} is most marked in bad steering, and E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} says seasickness. (2) I do notagree with flexible springing if the car is to be driven fast, as in testing in France. After 50MPH. 'China' with this body had poor acceleration, due to the power falling off, greatwindage, and weight, - i.e. compared with my J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} 1. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
