1286 Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /Std.4/AP. 24th April 1937 Messrs John Marston & Co.Ltd., WOLVERHAMPTON. For the attention of Mr.Dunn. Dear Sirs, As discussed over the telephone on Thursday, we have examined the Ph.III. matrix which you have sent us as representing what you will supply as a standard production article in future - both Mr.Bowers of our Radiator Shop and the writer are of the opinion that this matrix is satisfactory as to dimensions, openness of ends of waterways etc. We should like all future Ph.III. matrices to be up to this standard i.e. with a limit of + .015" on external dimensions (actually the sample block exceeds this limit slightly on the width but as this dimension does not involve us in any erection difficulties we have overlooked this point.) We are awaiting your report on the silted up matrices left with you and are forwarding two more similar ones - we should like to hear from you on this subject at the earliest possible moment. The radiator to which we require the second dummy shutter assembly fitting will be sent off in the course of the next two or three days. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
