Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} FEB 15 1922 RECEIVED X3539 ROY.{Sir Henry Royce}3/AG.14.2.22. X3539 HAND AND FOOT BRAKE LINERS FOR GOSHAWK. Fitment of Die Press Ferodo Bonded Asbestos Liners to these cars, will cost us roughly 10/- more per car than the use of Cresswell's Chekko, samples of which you have under observation. Will you kindly advise if your tests are now completed or if you are not yet in a position to give a definite opinion as to the relative merits of these materials, do you not think we shall be well advised to carry out tests further by splitting our order on the first 100 Goshawks, and fit 50 Sets Ferodo and 50 Sets Chekko. As far as Baraut Lining from Messrs. Small & Parkes of Manchester is concerned, the difference is so marked, about 7/- per car, but here I understand tests are in progress. In each case the Suppliers will drill the Liners before delivery, and supply pressed to our radius. ROY.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
