Description of Parts. STEERING GEAR BOXES. F.{Mr Friese} 87098/9 IN MALLEABLE IRON INSTEAD OF BRONZE.
Origin. To obtain a more rigid box for the prevention of oil leaks, and to maintain set up load when box is hot by eliminating differential expansion.
Report of Experimental Test. Completed 100 hours on bumper chassis and now undergoing 10,000 miles test on 32-EX. The boxes on 32-EX are superior to previous Ph.III boxes for freedom from oil leaks.
