C. WOP. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} RWC.

Bentley Servo - Friction for Balance Arm.

With reference to N. Sch.4406 which shows the disc type friction device for the balance arm, will you kindly substitute the outside friction plates shown by N. Sch.4428 for the SpectreCodename for Phantom III.

The object of this alteration is to provide for more movement of the arm and for the arm being incorrectly set fore and aft to begin with.

The friction load will be reduced in the ratio 1.325/1.625.

The 500 lbs spring should not be detailed unless found to be necessary.
