TELEGRAMS. BELTING, CLECKHEATON. BRITISH BELTING & ASBESTOS LTD. SCANDINAVIA MILLS, CLECKHEATON. TELEPHONE CLECKHEATON 318. HEAD OFFICE, 59, SOUTHWARK STREET, LONDON, S.E.1 ESTABLISHED 1880. TEXTILE BELTINGS. BRAKE & CLUTCH LININGS ASBESTOS GOODS. x3409. Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd., Nightingale Road, DERBY. August 19th 1932. Your Ref: Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}15/AD. Dear Sirs, Our Mr. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} Dalmaine who is now away on holiday has sent us your letter of August 16th, and we beg to acknowledge receipt of the four drawings enclosed. There is a discrepancy in the first paragraph of your letter. You say there are 16 linings of each drawing to equip a complete car, and that you would like three sets of 24 off each. Is the 16 linings to a car of each drawing an error, or do you require 48 off each drawing. With regard to the selvedge cotton duck, we are afraid it is quite impracticable to make disc to your drawing E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} 82463. In making this material the difficulty is in proportion to the ratio between the width and the inner diameter, and we see no hope of being able to weave a fabric of this shape. We will try to produce the disc to drawing E G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 100583 and will send you samples both dressed and undressed. Yours faithfully, For BRITISH BELTING & ASBESTOS Ltd. Y. Hanmer he THC/WRH [STAMP: RECEIVED AUG 20 1932] | ||
