PEDALS C TYPE CANTILEVER PLATE ASSEMBLY F.{Mr Friese} 61141

The anchorage on the frame worked loose allowing the pedal shaft to drop. The one bolt on the frame holding the bearing bracket should be riveted over to prevent this occurrence. It has been done on this car. The increased angle of the plate is more satisfactory and coincides better with the angle of the driver's foot.

CARBURETTER AIR SILENCER LOF E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} 60740

There was no pronounced roar from the carburetter, silencing was effective.

ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT.

STARTER MOTOR.

EL 267 Bush fitted to prevent sticking of Clutch drive.

The Motor has given no trouble. The engagement has been positive. There is no indication of undue wear of the bush.

DYNAMO

The output has maintained the battery charge for all running conditions. The brushes were very noisy at the beginning of the mileage. They became quiet, but we have had periods of the noise developing during the test. The fan on the dynamo fouled the end cover of the dynamo, the clearance not being sufficient for expansion. This was taken up with the D.O. Trays fitted over gauze of brush cover to prevent petrol being splashed into dynamo.

HEAD LAMPS.

The Lamps have given a good beam of light. The dipping worked satisfactorily. On uneven surfaces one lamp dithered, an old complaint. No failure of contact of the lamps has occurred.

FOG LAMP.

This was reported as being satisfactory. My own experience in a thick fog was I could get along better without it. There was too much of a broad beam which did not show the curb of the road sufficiently.

IGNITION.

No trouble has been experienced with the ignition. The contact points did not require re-setting. KLG 831 LR{Mr Ellor} ignition plugs used, set with .025 gap and ran throughout the mileage.
