COPY. To J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} from R.{Sir Henry Royce} Copy. to Na{Mr Nadin}, R3/P 24.2.14. LUCAS SELF-STARTER. With reference to the Lucas Self- starter drawing which I received this morning (23.2.14) I am sorry to say that this is no use for our purpose. It would not be capable of turning the engine without a tremendous load of current. Consequently I do not consider from the drawing that it is a really good job - it looks crude, i.e. not good automobile design. It would not fit in our present car. Someone has fitted into our car one made by the Westinghouse Co., of America, this seems a possible job though not entirely desireable, I shall be pleased to hear what the results are and more of this starter.
