Re: 40/50 HP. Chassis - 27-EX - New Car for R.{Sir Henry Royce}

In accordance with DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}4/M.26.9.30, this chassis should be a short type one built generally to N.2. series specification in accordance with the attached index sheets.

The N.2. series includes the following special items mentioned on the above memo:-

(1) Revised bonnet, radiator and dash.
(4) Radiator filler cap with anti-spilling valve LeC.2817.
(8) Instrument Board.
(10) "Full" and "Half" charge switching.
(16) Universal Type Subframe.
(18) One spare wheel at rear (Type 1)
(20) Radiator with central suspension.
(21) Complete One Shot Lubrication.
(22) Untarnishable finish of all bright parts.

The exceptions to standard N.2. series are as follows:-

Item 1.
The concealed side hinge for the bonnet is not included in the L.O.P. so should be included in accordance with previous D.O. instructions.

Items 2 & 7.
The 'F' type steering column and levers will be similar to those fitted to 26-EX, but will include the revised steering wheel and lowered controls as fitted by you to 22-EX. (mentioned in item 7). A dashboard drawing is being issued to apply this steering to the N.2. series wider bonnet.
