HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} CX{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager}/HN.{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders} } FROM DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} X8992 DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}1/M.30.10.30. Copy to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} 27-EX. - CAR FOR R.{Sir Henry Royce} We shall need the following accessories for this car:- (1) Headlamps - P.100. - Lucas - untarnishable finish (Staybrite if poss ible) (2) Lucas centre lamp - ---- ditto ---- (3) Lucas stream line wing lamps ---- ditto ---- (4) Lucas combined rear lamp, stop lamp, and reversing lamp. (We shall be sending Derby a design for carrying this. We believe it is only purchaseable in black finish, but we do not think that matters.) (5) Spot lamp - we are removing the one from 18-EX, and will give it to the coachbuilders to fit, our idea being that we shall not get any more money for 18-EX. because it has a spot lamp on it. (6) Bosch foot switch for centre lamp. (Coachbuilders will supply a switch for the spot lamp.) (7) Instrument board - we want this to be supplied exactly as that which is being standardised for N. 2. series and fitted to 25-EX. Should we have finished the petrol tank with central vent, which avoids the use of hand pump for petrol gauge, in time for you to fit to this car we shall not need the hand pump but we think it should still be left on the instrument board, disconnected, so as not to upset the symmetry. Would HN.{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders} please find out how much of this stuff Derby have, and obtain what else is necessary. WE are not sure whether we shall mount this body in Derby or at the coachbuilders in London. We will inform you later to where the materials should be despatched.
