COPY OF LETTER TO CONNAUGHT MOTOR COMPANY LTD.,

DATED 18th November 1925.

With reference to our letter of the 17th November, we should like it to be understood that, although it is mentioned that in some cars it may be necessary during the final test to alter the gearbox, back axle, or other parts, we do not want it to be understood that it is these particular parts which are receiving attention in Mr. Hall's car; those parts were only mentioned as some of the points which might require readjustment. There are of course many other parts, any of which, during the final test, may require attention before delivery.

It sometimes occurs that between the time we assemble a chassis and the time it is delivered to the customer, Mr. Royce has been able to make an alteration in the design which effects considerable improvement, and we therefore give the benefit to the customers whose cars have not yet been finally delivered; although this sometimes costs us a considerable amount of money, we do it for the benefit of our customers, as we do like them to have the latest improvements if these can be conveniently incorporated before the car is delivered, and if Mr. Royce specially recommends this.

In this particular instance we are able to incor-porate an improvement, but we think it undesirable to explain exactly what improvement we may make in this respect as this sometimes is apt to lead to jealousy and troubles between customers who may think that they have a right to have these improvements included because they have only received their cars during the previous few weeks.

Yours faithfully,
For ROLLS-ROYCE,LIMITED.
