We send herewith N. schs. 2529/30. shewing the step brackets which we wish you to provide on the sports chassis. The part supplied by Derby is a step-iron with its dumb iron riveted in the end: the coach-builders make the rest.

The step-iron is the standard pressing which we now use bent and cut off as shewn. We propose fitting these at centre distances from the dashboard respectively 30", 49.5", and 63". While this will be shewn on a layout which is to follow we would be glad if Derby would verify immediately whether these positions are possible, and wire us, as the coachbuilders will be going ahead with their toolboxes.

It is essential that a set of these step-irons should be fitted to the dummy chassis at Hooper's as soon as possible, and that two further sets should be produced quickly for the other two cars.

As we wish to [handwritten over 'distribute': SEND] distribute prints of these drawings to [handwritten over 'the coachbuilders': MR ROYCE] the coachbuilders would you kindly forward us by return [strikethrough: four] [handwritten above: ONE] extra prints of each.
