- 2 - These last two figures are the actual opening, but we would recommend that you use masked valves which enables you to spread the mechanical opening over a longer period and still attain the above effective figures. With regard to the swirl at inlet, we do not think that you will obtain sufficient swirl by using only the thickness of the liner wall. I am having a sketch prepared which will not be to scale, but only give the idea of what we think is necessary in order to obtain sufficient turbulence for our type of combustion chamber, if you proposed to use it.
