c. CWS / 1021 CONFIDENTIAL. 27th. April 1939. BY.2/N. Messrs. Park Ward & Co.Ltd., 473, High Road, Willesden, London N.W.10. For the attention of Mr.Ward. Dear Sir, Re: Experimental Chassis Prints. Please receive herewith blueprints of the following schemes:- F.CD.1334 - Side Spare Wheel Carrier. F.CD.1306 - Rear Spring Shackle. F.CD.1188 - Rear Frame Extension. F.CD.1304 - Amal One Shot Fastener. F.CD.1320 - Side Plate Suspension & Top Catch. F.CD.1334 shows the spare wheel carrier moved outwards to provide more clearance between the carrier tube and the bonnet side plates, this clearance is essential with the Amal one shot fastener scheme. F.CD.1306 shows an oil coil and cover and replaces PD.339. F.CD.1304. shows the bonnet side plates held in position by an "Amal" one shot fastener. F.CD.1320 shows the bonnet top plates held in position by an "Amal" twin hook fastener scheme. F.CD.1304 and F.CD.1320 used in conjunction with F.CD.888 and F.CD.1198 will, we expect, be our final bonnet scheme. In any case the valance strip F.CD.1198 and F.CD.1304 will enable you to go ahead with your front wings, as our modifications all take place above the wing line. F.CD.1188 shows a more adjustable extension piece and replaces F.CD.1057. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. CHIEF ENGINEER -CHASSIS. | ||
