For the attention of Mr. Minchin.

Dear Sirs,

With reference to your letter of the 29th. Dec. we agree with Mr. Bellringer, that in renewing the electrolyte of a battery which had given five years service on a car, a certain risk would be run of doing more harm than good. We do, however, consider that enquiries should have been made as to when the electrolyte was last renewed, and in the event of a lapse of two years, renewal should have been undertaken after first warning the customer of the possible deleterious effects that this would incur.

In any case, we think the battery should have been charged up and the density of the electrolyte taken, in order to ascertain its condition.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
